The most important in advance

Dear Halfmarathoners,

the tension is rising, the body already starts to tingle and every running session is accompanied by the same feeling: The anticipation of being able to share the same experience with a lot of fellow runners. Like a lot! On June 26, the time has finally come when the hella hamburg half calls for the 28th time for a sporty sightseeing tour with a great amount of partying going on.

In order that you can continue to prepare for race day, we would like to provide You with some first important information. Further information will follow soon.

Where do I get my race documents?

You will receive your race documents on the weekend of the event at the Hamburg Messe + Congress. Please head to the Entrance East, located on St. Petersburger Straße 1, Hamburg. Due to the very limited parking facilities on site, we recommend to use the public transportation to get there. These are your options:

  • Underground line U1 to U-Stephansplatz (Opera/CCH) – approx. 10 min. walk
  • Underground line U2 to U-Messehallen – approx. 7 min. walk
  • City railway S11, S21 or S31 as well as regional and long-distance trains to S-Dammtor (Messe/CCH) – approx. 9 min. walk

On race day, there will also be a free bicycle parking lot available for your use. Should you still wish to travel by car, we recommend that you look early for a parking space on the Heiligengeistfeld. Please note that due to a third-party event held on the location (King of the Court), parking is likely to be limited.

When can I collect my race documents?

Our gates will be open for the pick up of your race documents at the following times:

  • Fri, 06/24/2022: 2.00 to 6.00 pm
  • Sat, 06/25/2022: 12.00 to 18.30 pm
  • Sun, 06/26/2022: 7.00 to 8.30 am

To pick up your race documents you need to show the e-mail with all the most important informations in advance in digital or printed form. You will be asked to state your start number on site. You can also pick up the race documents of other participants. In this case, show the e-mail of the respective person.

Important note for all participants who moved last year’s registration to 2022!

If You have carried over your registration from the previous year, You have been assigned a new bib number. So please note that your old one is not applicable and only the number given above is correct.

Where can I get the official shirt?

If you have ordered the official finisher shirt for the hella hamburg half 2022, You will find a pick-up slip in your race documents. Please present it at the shirt counter, which you will find on the right side of the exit. The shirt can also be purchased on the event weekend for a price of 30,00 Euros. Please note that shirts will only be offered while stocks last!

What are the race documents for?

The bib number is to be worn unchanged and visibly on the front of your sportswear. Upon request, You will receive safety pins on site for better attachment. The bib number also contains a small, detachable section that you should use to mark your luggage if You want to use our free baggage service.

We only use the official BMS Chip or a rental substitute for timing purposes. The latter you will receive with your race documents. The chip needs to be attached on top of your feet. Tie it tightly into the laces of your running shoe so that it lies flat. After the run, it must be returned to the blue containers labeled Chip-Rückgabe in the post finish area. Do not hesitate to ask the staff on site for help if needed. If You forget to return Your rental chip, we will have to charge You a fee of 15.00 Euro.

Please use the three-part bib number as follows: Attach the large section visibly to the back of your athletic apparel. If desired, you will receive safety pins on site for better attachment. The detachable small section will be used to mark your luggage for use of the free baggage service. Another section must be attached to your right thigh for identification by the finish cameras.

An active transponder is used for timing purposes. The transponder is attached to the ankle with velcro tape. After the run, it must be returned to the blue containers with the inscription Chip-Rückgabe in the post finish area. Otherwise, we will have to charge You a fee of 90,00 Euro.

What do I have to pay attention to in terms of infection control?

Wearing an FFP2 mask is recommended on the event site in indoor areas and areas with dense crowds. Please also make use of disinfection dispensers provided on site. No other precautions, such as a check of the indicated vaccination status, will apply.

That will do it for today. You will receive further information regarding the new starting procedure, a presentation of our improved water supply along the course, more information on the provided services and some background information of the race later.
