Dear halfmarathoners,
race day is almost here! Even before the starting documents pickup open its doors in the exhibition halls on Friday, we would like to provide you with this last info about the race. Today we would like to introduce you to the services and facilities on site to make your race day as pleasant as possible.
But first, we would like to share with you our tips for running in the heat. During the run, temperatures between 20° and 27° C are expected. To be best prepared for the conditions, our guide will help you keep a cool head.
To help you find your way around on the event weekend, please take a look at the area maps in advance. You can also find your routes before and after the race on the maps.
Your bib number can also be used as a ticket for public means of transportation in the HVV area on the day of the event and entitles you to travel within the rings A-F including buses.
On the day of the event, you can leave one piece of luggage in Hall B5 on the exhibition grounds free of charge. You can reach this via three entrances: Via Gate B6 (Holstenglacis), via Foyer Entrance East or via St. Petersburger Straße (see are plans). Use the detachable section on your bib number to mark your luggage.
Changing rooms, toilets and showers are also located in hall B5. Additional restrooms are available in the foyer. Portable toilets are available both at the start line-up and at the supply points at KM 5 – 7.0 – 9.3 – 12.4 – 15.0 and 17.5.
Due to the start line-up in the immediate vicinity of the exhibition halls, the bus shuttle to the start on the Reeperbahn, known from previous years, is no longer available. You can comfortably walk the distance from hall B5. This distance is also suitable for warm-up runs.
After the run you have the possibility to use the free massage service in hall B5. Our massage team will make tired calves feel better again!
This year again the CEP Pacemaker Team will help you to reach your desired finish time. Look out for the runners with beach flags on their backs in the starting area. 4 pacemakers each will take care of the important target times of 1:30, 1:45, 2:00 and 2:15 h.
Before your starting block advances to the starting line, you will enjoy our pre-race show. During the five-minute warm-up program, we will loosen up muscles and tensions together.
The course is measured exactly according to the specifications of the World Athletics at 21.0975 km and is therefore suitable for the best list. Each kilometer will be marked with kilometer signs.
Two changes have been made to the course to make the turning points on the Kennedy Bridge and in the Alsterglacis less difficult. Instead of a 180° turns, two 90° curves will be run. For ambitious runners this means: The course will be faster!
On the course there will be supply points with still water at the following places: KM 3,7 – 7,0 – 9,3 – 12,4 – 15,0 – 17,5 and 19,7. In the finish area four more sorts from the hella assortment as well as fresh ERDINGER Alkoholfrei (non-alcoholic beer) are waiting for thirsty throats. Also help yourself to the fruit and Franzbrötchen stands in order to power up.
If you booked medal engraving when you registered, you will also find it in Hall B5. You can also purchase the engraving on site for 10,00 Euro.
Please smile! Our photo partner will again be on duty at five points along the course to capture you from your best side. You can purchase your best snapshots in the coming week at Meine-Sportfotos.de.
Hamburg 1 will broadcast the 28th hella hamburg half marathon on television and via livestream. The regional network will broadcast live from the action between 8:45 and 10:45 am. In addition, the race can be followed on the official YouTube channel.
