The start will take place in waves/blocks. Choose the right starting block according to your expected finish time.
Start: Reeperbahn/Glacisschausee (Metro: U-Bahn St. Pauli)
Finish: St. Petersburger Str. / Expo Hamburg (Metro: U-Bahn Messehallen/S-Bahn Dammtor)
Closing of the Finish
The finish will close at 1:30 p.m.
Participants get a max. running time of 03:30:00
Race Course
The course is an officially measured 21.0975 km point-to-point course, which is valid for being counted for a best time list. The course is mainly flat, paved throughout and is kept clear of traffic during the race by police and volunteers. Every kilometre is clearly marked by signs.
Eligibility
Participation in the half marathon is open to those born in 2010 and earlier.
Kids born between 2013 and 2021 can participate in the kids race.
Anyone who has an official race number, has trained for the race and does not have any medical indications is permitted to participate. No club affiliation is required.

In case of non-appearance, there is no right to a refund of the registration fee, and you are not allowed to give away your ticket to another runner.
Any missing information and resulting bank fees (min. 15 euro) are the responsibility of the participant.

Cancellation Option • 10,00 Euro
Only with the online registration you can book a cancellation option. The cancellation option includes the refunding of the registration fee (incl. timing fee, shirt and medal engraving)
Booking the cancellation option is only possible from Germany via SEPA bank transfer.
The declaration of cancellation is only possible till Tuesday, 9th June 2026.
You have to declare your cancellation by the online form from the registration mail.
a)100% refund in case of disease, pregnancy, accident or death of the participant. A formal certification is necessary.
b)in case of cancellation for other reasons without a formal certification we refund:
80% till 31st March 2026
70% till 30th April 2026
60% till 31st May 2026
50% till 9th June 2026
No refund of a bought BMS-Chip and/or socks at any cancellation reason.
Medal engraving • 8,00 Euro

They are non-transferable and have to be picked up in person.
Timekeeping System
Timekeeping is carried out through a transponder. The timing fee is 3,00 Euro. Timing fee is not charged for owners of a BMS-Chip. For that the BMS-Chip-Number needs to be insert during registration.
All participants will receive the transponder with the race documents. The transponder is located on the back of the bib number and doesn’t need to be returned.
Rankings
There will be individual and team rankings for men and women.
Team registration is not necessary. This will be calculated according to the top three times of participants from a team / running group, regardless of the age group.
The individual rankings for the running event will be determined by gross times with notification of the official net time and net ranking, according to the prescribed competition regulations (Rule 240 IWR). The team rankings (running) are determined by the net time, according to regulations by the German Athletics Association (DLV).
Award Ceremony
The awards ceremonies will start about at 11:00 a.m. at the event centre at the Expo Area.
Every properly registered participant who finishes will receive a commemorative medal at the finish line.
Liability Waiver
Participation is at the sole risk of the participant. No liability is accepted by the organizer/promoter for all claims for injuries or damages, including accidents or lost clothing or other objects, which the participant may incur during or as a result of his participation in this event. By registering, the participant agrees that he is solely responsible to be physically fit and sufficiently prepared to participate in this activity. Place of jurisdiction is Hamburg.
Race Safety
For all skaters, helmets are absolutely necessary at all times while on the race course. Wrist, knee and elbow protection for skaters is also recommended.
Refreshments
7 refreshment points with hella naturell will be set up along the course. A refreshing array of hella products, Erdinger Alkoholfrei, bananas etc. will be available at the finish area.
Clothing bag storage
Clothing bags labelled with the small race number can be stored at the finish area (Halle B5). It is just 1.5 Kilometers away from the start so very good to do a warm up run. There is no bag storage at the start area.
Changing Rooms
Showers, sanitary installations and changing rooms are available at the finish. Portable toilets will be available at the start and finish, as well as at the refreshment points.
Getting here
Some parking space is available at the finish area; however, it is limited. All participants are strongly urged to take the metro to the start.
Notice
Escort vehicles (cars, bicycles, motorcycles) are not allowed on the race course.
Since the running event is held in conformity with the rules of the German Athletics Association (DLV), participation or escorts on roller skates / inline skates, skate boards or other equipment is not allowed.
Baby joggers, Nordic walking sticks and animals are not permitted either, and any contraventions will lead to disqualification.
In case of a violation of fair sportsman-like behaviour, the participant will be excluded from the event.
The hella hamburg half marathon is a member of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) and German Road Races. The hella hamburg half marathon was feature with the WORLD ATHLETICS Road Race Label 2025.
